1. To check the drum life manually, press on the down arrow under the (-) sign by your printer's display until you see "Machine Info." 2. Press the OK button. 3. To scroll through the next set of options, keep pressing the down arrow until you see "Parts Life" 4. Press the OK button. 5. Press the down arrow once and it should say "Drum Life". If you don't see this, keep pressing the down arrow until you do. 6. Press the OK button. 7. The display will show you how much you have left remaining in your drum. If it says "Remaining: 0%" then it's time to replace it. Otherwise, you can keep using your drum unit. 8. It's advisable to have a replacement on hand by the time you have 10% of your drum life remaining.

How do you replace a Brother DR730 drum unit?

Slide the toner cartridge from Step 3 into the new DR730 drum unit until it clicks in place. 6. Clean the corona wire towards the back end of the drum unit by sliding the green tab back and forth a couple of times. 7. Slide the drum unit back into the printer. 8. Close the front cover. 9. Now that you've replaced your drum unit, reset your drum counter. Your printer uses a page counter that must be reset manually every time a new drum unit is installed.
