What ink does HP 3630 use?

The DeskJet 3630 printer uses HP 63 black and tricolor cartridges. Both cartridges are needed for the printer to work. HP 63 ink cartridges come in higher yield HP 63XL sizes. The HP 63XL is available in black and tricolor. More affordable aftermarket HP 63 and 63XL cartridges are available.

Is HP 63 and 63xl the same?

The only difference between an HP 63 and 63XL is the ink volume contained in the cartridge. An HP 63XL contains MORE INK and can print more pages. In other words it has a higher page yield, thus the term high yield cartridge. The HP 63 is what is called a standard cartridge, the HP 63XL is called a high yield cartridge.

How many pages can an HP cartridge print?

A standard black HP 63 ink cartridge can print up to 190 pages. A standard tricolor HP 63 ink cartridge can print up to 165 pages.

A high yield black HP 63XL ink cartridge prints up to 480 pages. A high yield tricolor HP 63XL ink cartridge can print up to 330 pages.

How fast your ink cartridge runs out ultimately depends on what you print and how often you print.

What does the XL mean on ink cartridges?

The "XL" on cartridges indicate that that cartridge is a high yield cartridge. High yield cartridges usually are the same size as a standard cartridge but contains more ink than a standard cartridge. High yield and standard cartridges fit in the same slot in your printer so installation instructions are the same.

How do I change the ink in my HP DeskJet 3630?

1. Lift the scanner unit, wait for the printhead to center.
2. Remove old cartridge by pressing down on it to release it. Carefully pull the cartridge out and set aside for recycling.
3. Remove packaging on the new ink cartridge. Remove the plastic tape. (Note: Once you remove the plastic tape, you cannot put it back on.)
4. Make sure you don’t touch the gold contacts or the nozzles. Touching them can result in ink failure or an error message on your printer.
5. Slide new cartridge at a slightly upward angle into the empty slot until you hear a click.
6. Close the scanner lid.
