Fall is in the air and Halloween is right around the corner. In anticipation of everyone’s favorite haunted holiday, we have compiled some fun Halloween themed crafts and printables to get you and your little ones into the spooky spirit.
Carve a Creepy Pumpkin
Pumpkin carving is always a highlight in the weeks leading up to Halloween. HGTV® has a free collection of pumpkin carving templates for those looking to carve a bit more than the classic jack-o-lantern. Perfect for beginner and advanced carving enthusiasts, all you need is a pumpkin, a printer to print out your preferred template and a couple of easy to find pumpkin carving tools. An inkjet or laser printer will work fine if you are just printing out a few copies. To save a bit of ink, we recommend adjusting your printer settings to draft mode, an economical printing option that is available in most printers. Printing your templates with compatible ink from LD Products is another great way to save! From ghosts and ghouls to witches and bats, greet all your neighborhood trick or treaters with a spooktacular pumpkin on your porch this October.
Pumpkins for Your Pet
Pet lovers can create a pet pumpkin in Fido or Whiskers’ likeness with a few basic craft supplies. First, find an artificial pumpkin that fits the shape of your favorite pet (Michael’s has a great selection). Actual pumpkins won’t work well with acrylic paint, so you will need to stick with the artificial option for this craft! Then, pull together your favorite crafting supplies like acrylic paint, a hot glue gun, permanent marker, scissors and fabric and go to town.
Print Your Own Halloween Party Invites
The Spruce Crafts has put together a frightful collection of over 17 free Halloween party invitations that can easily be printed from home. Our favorite are these owl invites from Martha Stewart®, complete with moveable wings and a menacing stare…
Haunted Halloween Decorations
Halloween decorations from the local party store can be scary expensive. These printable decorations from DIY Network® add an instantly eerie vibe to any party and are a great option if you are on a tight budget – almost everything on the list you can create for less than $5. Create picture frame lanterns with a haunted scene, an eight-legged cake or an eyeball wreath, all available for free on their website.
Printable Treat Bags
Halloween party-goers will love these treat bag printables from Hallmark®. Bonus, they are easy to assemble too! Required supplies include card stock, small plastic bags, a color printer, stapler, scissors, and of course, candy! Simple and festive, these are great for passing out to trick or treaters on Halloween night or your kid’s Halloween party at school. Not sure what candy to choose? Candystore.com ranked the top Halloween candy by state on their blog. Find your state and pass out candy that is guaranteed to be a hit with the entire neighborhood!
